Here in Salt Lake the home listing inventory is also way down. Buyers have few homes to choose from and because of this we are starting to see more multiple offer situations. Home prices are on the rise again, with August 2012 seeing nearly a 10% median home price increase for Salt Lake County. New construction is doing well on the back on this, prob because there are very few resale homes for buyers to choose from.

The key housing market index gained six points in July, increasing to 35. This is the largest one-month gain recorded by the index in nearly a decade, and brings the HMI to its highest point since March of 2007.
