Treasure Valley Organic Homebrew Challenge: Come Be A Judge!

by Aaron Catt on June 13, 2009

all-idaho-hausbrau-and-treasure-valley-organic-challengeThe Second Annual ‘All Idaho Hausbräu Battle’ and ‘Treasure Valley Organic Homebrew Challenge’ will be here July 11th, 2009.  And, for those of you who like a brew from time to time, this could be a great chance for you to see just how good a homebrew can be!

The event is actually 2 semi-autonomous events in 1 with the All Idaho Hausbräu Battle consisting of 9 defined styles and the Treasure Valley Organic Homebrew Challenge consisting of 1 defined style, according to the overview on the Boise Coop’s Blog.

If you’d like to participate as a Homebrewer, you better hurry if you’ve already bottled the appropriate style of beer, if not, it may be too late.  However, you can still be an amateur judge, but you’d better hurry, they are limiting it to only the first 100 people to purchase a ‘judging card’.

Come Be A Judge!

I started home brewing in September of 2008 and I will be participating in both the Battle and the Challenge.  I really don’t expect great results thanks to my recent switch from Partial Mash Brewing to All-Grain Brewing, but I am looking forward to meeting some great people, learning some new techniques and tasting some really good beer!

I will be entering style 6C-  Kölsch for the Organic Challenge and I will be entering a 14B- American IPA into the Hausbräu Battle.
